Sin embargo, se ha descrito un sistema animales la existencia de rpks at\u00edpicos, incapaces de fosforilar. Se ha descrito su participaci\u00f3n en procesos de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n como plataformas de anclaje de m\u00f3dulos se\u00f1alizadores, as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n su participaci\u00f3n activa mediante eventos independientes de fosforilaci\u00f3n.     durante este trabajo se ha llevado a cabo la caracterizaci\u00f3n de 2 genes de ma\u00edz clonados en el laboratorio, que codifican para un receptor quinasa at\u00edpico (mark), defectivo en actividad quinasa, y una quinasa del tipo map4k (mik), expresados durante la embriog\u00e9nesis y en los meristemos de la planta adulta.     mark presenta alterados 3 amino\u00e1cidos altamente conservados del dominio quinasa, descritos como indispensables para la actividad de las prote\u00ednas quinasa. Experimentalmente se ha comprobado que no presenta actividad quinasa in vitro, sugiriendo que es un receptor at\u00edpico que se\u00f1aliza mediante mecanismos independientes de fosforilaci\u00f3n.     mark y mik interaccionan in vitro e in vivo, resultando dicha interacci\u00f3n en la activaci\u00f3n de la actividad quinasa de la map4k. As\u00ed la interacci\u00f3n del dominio intracelular del receptor con el dominio regulador auto-inhibidor de la mapk, resulta en la liberaci\u00f3n de la auto-inhibici\u00f3n de la map4k.
