Esta liberaci\u00f3n de catecolaminas alcanza su mayor pico de concentraci\u00f3n durante el parto y es fundamental para la adaptaci\u00f3n a la vida extrauterina del reci\u00e9n nacido. hemos utilizado una preparaci\u00f3n de m\u00e9dula adrenal in vitro de rata para estudiar mediante microamperometr\u00eda utilizando microelectrodos de fibra de carbono la secreci\u00f3n de catecolaminas de este \u00f3rgano durante su etapa neonatal al enfrentarlo a est\u00edmulos fisiol\u00f3gicos como son la hipoxia, la acidosis hiperc\u00e1pnica y la hipoglucemia. de esta manera hemos descrito en esta tesis doctoral la respuesta secretora de la m\u00e9dula adrenal neonatal de rata inducida por la hipoxia. Esta respuesta es dependiente de la intensidad de la hipoxia aplicada y del calcio extracelular que ingresar\u00eda en la c\u00e9lula cromaf\u00edn a trav\u00e9s fundamentalmente de canales tipo l. Al comparar esta respuesta con la descrita en el cuerpo carot\u00eddeo, \u00f3rgano quimiorreceptor mejor estudiado, pudimos observar como la ganancia de la transducci\u00f3n hip\u00f3xica para activar la maquinaria exocit\u00f3tica es menor en la m\u00e9dula adrenal neonatal que en el cuerpo carot\u00eddeo adulto en la rata. Esta respuesta hip\u00f3xica no nurog\u00e9nica en la m\u00e9dula adrenal se aten\u00faa hasta quedar en un 30% en la m\u00e9dula de rata juvenil ya inervada, y desaparece en la m\u00e9dula de rata adulta, esta desaparici\u00f3n no parece debida a los p\u00e9ptidos opioides secretados por las terminaciones nerviosas. describimos por primera vez in vitro la respuesta no neurog\u00e9nica de la m\u00e9dula adrenal neonatal frente a la acidosis hiperc\u00e1pnica. La liberaci\u00f3n de catecolaminas inducida por este est\u00edmulo fisiol\u00f3gico es de magnitud similar a la provocada por la hipoxia, y al igual que en el caso de \u00e9sta, dependiente de la
