Junto con la coexistencia de otros factores hepatot\u00f3xicos, la posesi\u00f3n determinados polimorfismos o variantes gen\u00e9ticas puede estar implicada en la variabilidad al desarrollo de esta enfermedad. estudiamos en 258 pacientes con ingesta excesiva de alcohol y criterios de abuso o dependencia de esta sustancia (161 sin eha y 97 con cirrosis hep\u00e1tica) y 101 controles con ingesta de alcohol menor de 10 gramos al d\u00eda los siguientes polimorfismos:  94ins\/delattg del gen nfkb1, 126g\/a nfkbia, 34c\/g pparg2, -238g\/a tnfa,  330t\/g il2, -33t\/c il4, -174g\/c il6, -251a\/t il8,  -592c\/a il10 y 1188a\/c il12b. en alcoh\u00f3licos cirr\u00f3ticos respecto a alcoh\u00f3licos sin eha se encontr\u00f3 una mayor frecuencia del alelo a (genotipos ga y aa) del polimorfismo -238g\/a tnfa (p < 0,001, or 6,13 [2,65-14,29]); el metan\u00e1lisis realizado integrando estos datos con los de tres estudios previos confirm\u00f3 la asociaci\u00f3n significativa del alelo a con la eha, aunque todav\u00eda no existen datos claros sobre la funcionalidad de este polimorfismo en esta enfermedad. El alelo t (genotipos gt y tt) del polimorfismo -33t\/c il2 fue m\u00e1s frecuente en cirr\u00f3ticos que en alcoh\u00f3licos sin eha (p = 0,037, or = 4,20 [1,09-16,65]), sugiriendo que su posesi\u00f3n predispone el desarrollo de cirrosis a trav\u00e9s de la disminuci\u00f3n de la secreci\u00f3n de il-2. El alelo a (genotipos ca y aa) del -592c\/a il10 se encontr\u00f3 con mayor frecuencia en alcoh\u00f3licos que en controles (p = 0,048, or 1,65 [1,01-2,71]), pudiendo predisponer al desarrollo de alcoholismo a trav\u00e9s de una mayor inflamaci\u00f3n neuronal condicionada por la menor s\u00edntesis de il-10. No encontramos relaci\u00f3n para el resto de polimorfismos analizados con la presencia de cirrosis alcoh\u00f3lica o alcoholismo.\n\n\n\n&nbsp;\n\n\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
