En primer lugar, se clonaron los receptores porcinos expresados en hip\u00f3fisis, psst1, psst2, psst3 y psst5a, los m\u00e1s importantes implicados en el control de la secreci\u00f3n de la hormona del crecimiento (gh). Posteriormente se transfectaron en modelos celulares heter\u00f3logos en los que se evalu\u00f3 su capacidad de regular tanto el nivel de amp como el de calcio libre citos\u00f3lico en respuesta a su ligandos, somatostatina (srif) y cortistatina (cst). Por otra parte, estudiando interacci\u00f3n f\u00edsica mediante fret, se observ\u00f3 que los psst existen en forma dim\u00e9rica y oligom\u00e9rica, pudiendo adem\u00e1s heterodimerizar de forma selectiva. Uno de estos receptores, el psst2, demostr\u00f3 un perfil farmacol\u00f3gico y funcional t\u00edpico de sst2, pero unas caracter\u00edsticas \u00fanicas en cuanto homodimerizaci\u00f3n\/disociaci\u00f3n e internalizaci\u00f3n en respuesta a srif.  durante la caracterizaci\u00f3n de los psst, se clonaron dos isoformas truncadas del psst5, llamadas psst5b y psst5c, de 6 y 3 dominios transmembrana (dtms), ambas funcionales y que responden de forma selectiva a srif y a cst respectivamente. estos receptores se localizan preferentemente en ac\u00famulos intracelulares y colocalizan  con las isoformas no truncadas, alterando la t\u00edpica localizaci\u00f3n de \u00e9stas \u00faltimas en la membrana plasm\u00e1tica cuando se coexpresan en distintos modelos celulares. Se han clonado dos isoformas truncadas del sst5 humano, an\u00e1logas a las porcinas, llamadas hsst5b y hsst5c, de 5 y 4 dtms respectivamente. Se comportan de forma similar a sus an\u00e1logas porcinas en t\u00e9rminos funcionales, de localizaci\u00f3n subcelular y de interacci\u00f3n f\u00edsica con los hsst no truncados y adem\u00e1s,
