Aunque inicialmente se consideraron meramente componentes estructurales de membrana, actualmente se conoce su implicaci\u00f3n en diferentes funciones celulares como regulaci\u00f3n de crecimiento o muerte. En este sentido, estos compuestos est\u00e1n siendo investigados en enfermedades con alta trascendencia, tales como c\u00e1ncer o el sida. El trabajo realizado en esta tesis doctoral se basa en la s\u00edntesis de an\u00e1logos de esfingol\u00edpidos, centrandose en el desarrollo de nuevos agentes antif\u00fangicos dada la elevada importancia que estos medicamentos tambi\u00e9n tienen en el contexto actual.     se han preparado familias de compuestos an\u00e1logas a fitoesfingol\u00edpidos presentes mayoritariamente en hongos y minoritarios en mam\u00edferos. Estos compuestos presentan una estructura b\u00e1sica de (2s, 3s, 4r)-2-amino-octadecan-1,3,4-triol. Los an\u00e1logos sintetizados difieren de los compuestos naturales en los grupos funcionales en posici\u00f3n c1 (hidroxilos, aminas o azidas), en los grupos acilo empleados para la formaci\u00f3n de amidas en posici\u00f3n c2 as\u00ed como en las tereoqu\u00edmica de los centros estereog\u00e9nicos en c3 y c4. La s\u00edntesis empleada para la obtenci\u00f3n de dichos compuestos se bas\u00f3 en la reacic\u00f3n de dihidroxilaci\u00f3n asim\u00e9trica de sharpless sobre olefinas preparadas a partir de un sinton quiral derivado de la l-serina. Adem\u00e1s, se estudiaron reacciones de ciclaci\u00f3n intramolecular, prepar\u00e1ndose dos nuevos an\u00e1logos a la jaspina b, un alcaloide aislado de esponjas marinas con elevada actividad citot\u00f3xica frente c\u00e9lulas de carcinoma humano. Todos los compuestos se ensayaron inicialmente como inhibidores del crecimiento de saccharomyces cerevisiae y una etapa posterior, frente a otras levaduras y hongos filamentosos, incluyendo especies del g\u00e9nero aspergillus y penicillium.
