La investigaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica en \u00e1reas como la gen\u00f3mica y la prote\u00f3mica ha visto c\u00f3mo en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, especialmente tras el \u00e9xito del proyecto genoma humano, ha evolucionado hacia una obtenci\u00f3n masiva de datos con la incorporaci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00edas de alto rendimiento, como las microarrays de adn, que son dif\u00edcilmente interpretables con las t\u00e9cnicas tradicionales. Este trabajo se centra en el an\u00e1lisis de estos resultados. Por una parte, utilizando conceptos de teor\u00eda de la informaci\u00f3n, muestra un criterio de selecci\u00f3n de genes que maximiza la informaci\u00f3n que contiene un experimento. Se ha desarrollado un programa que hace estos c\u00e1lculos y muestra los resultados de forma intuitiva los genes seleccionados no son \u00fatiles en s\u00ed mismos si no se les da una interpretaci\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica. Se han desarrollado dos herramientas, una de an\u00e1lisis funcional y otra para b\u00fasqueda bibliogr\u00e1fica, que facilitan esta interpretaci\u00f3n. Dado que la informaci\u00f3n disponible es enorme, todas las herramientas incluyen la significaci\u00f3n estad\u00edstica de sus resultados haciendo los ajustes necesarios en caso de que haya hip\u00f3tesis m\u00faltiple. Se ha propuesto un algoritmo eficaz y de c\u00e1lculo sencillo para hace el ajuste de hip\u00f3tesis m\u00faltiple. this thesis has been developed in the field of bioinformatics, an area in expansion during the last years. The evolution of new techniques in this field applied to the research in biology a biochemical science has contributed to this development. In the last years, scientific areas such as genomics and proteomics can obtain a massive amount of experimental data, thanks to high throughput technologies. These data require new methods of analysis compared with more traditional experiments. This thesis deals with the analysis and biological interpretation of the results of microarray experiments. A new method for the selection of differentially expressed genes has been developed using information theory, in which the information content of the experiment is maximized. Al so, a web application has been implemented to carry out all the calculation needed, and the output is user-friendly. The list of genes obtained has to be analyzed to obtain useful biological results. In this context, two software tools nave been designed and implemented, one related with functional analysis using gene ontology, and the other oriented to bibliographic analysis. These tools include statistical analysis of the results, and correction in the case of multiple hypothesis testing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
