Poseen una complejaci\u00f3n moderada de cationes alcalinos, a trav\u00e9s de un plegamiento del receptor en torno al cati\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, algunos de estos receptores presentan la propiedad de agregarse formando nanotubos en fase s\u00f3lida. por otro lado, la otra familia de receptores se dise\u00f1\u00f3 con vistas a optimizar el dise\u00f1o original para conseguir discriminaci\u00f3n entre dos enanti\u00f3meros de un cati\u00f3n quiral, en concreto sales de amonio de amino\u00e1cidos. Afortunadamente se encontr\u00f3 un receptor que despliega una genial discriminaci\u00f3n entre ambos enanti\u00f3meros de amino\u00e1cidos con cadena arom\u00e1tica, en especial el tript\u00f3fano. Estudiando el sistema se encontr\u00f3 que el receptor se encuentra plegado, tanto libre como complejado, y que existe una interacci\u00f3n ch-pi intramolecular. Adem\u00e1s con los enanti\u00f3meros d de aquellos amino\u00e1cidos con cadena arom\u00e1tica, se establece otra interacci\u00f3n ch-pi, esta vez intermolecular, de vital importancia para el fen\u00f3meno del reconocimiento quiral. Ambas interacciones se pudieron cuantificar. adem\u00e1s, se estudi\u00f3 de manera cualitativa y cuantitativa el efecto isot\u00f3pico de deuterio no covalente al sustituir los hidr\u00f3genos involucrados en las interacciones ch-pi descritas, por deuterios. por \u00faltimo se comprob\u00f3 la gran influencia del ani\u00f3n en todo el proceso de complejaci\u00f3n, asociado hipot\u00e9ticamente a una interacci\u00f3n adicional entre la parte arom\u00e1tica del sustrato y el ani\u00f3n, reforzando o no la interacci\u00f3n ch-pi
