La presente tesis doctoral pretende hacer un an\u00e1lisis autom\u00e1tico de la estructura de piezas musicales a partir del an\u00e1lisis de una grabaci\u00f3n, es decir, extraer una descripci\u00f3n estructural a partir de se\u00f1ales musicales polif\u00f3nicas.  en la medida en que la repetici\u00f3n y transformaci\u00f3n de la estructura de la m\u00fasica genera una identificaci\u00f3n \u00fanica de una obra musical, extraer autom\u00e1ticamente esta informaci\u00f3n puede vincular entre s\u00ed descripciones de bajo y alto nivel de una se\u00f1al musical y puede proporcionar al usuario una manera m\u00e1s efectiva de interactuar con un contenido de audio.  para algunas aplicaciones basadas en contenido, encontrar los l\u00edmites de determinados segmentos de una grabaci\u00f3n resulta indispensable. As\u00ed pues, tambi\u00e9n se investiga la segmentaci\u00f3n temporal de audio a nivel sem\u00e1ntico, al igual que la identificaci\u00f3n de extractos representativos de una se\u00f1al musical que pueda servir como resumen de la misma. Para ello se emplea una t\u00e9cnica de an\u00e1lisis a un nivel de abstracci\u00f3n m\u00e1s elevado que permite obtener una mejor divisi\u00f3n en segmentos.  tanto desde el punto de vista te\u00f3rico como pr\u00e1ctico, esta investigaci\u00f3n no s\u00f3lo ayuda a incrementar nuestro conocimiento respecto a la estructura musical, sino que tambi\u00e9n proporciona una ayuda al examen y
