Este trabajo se desarrolla dentro de la reciente l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n que apunta la necesidad de analizar la perspectiva de la demanda, es decir, como los recursos de la empresa se utilizan para crear valor para el cliente. Concretamente, el objetivo principal de este trabajo consiste en analizar que recursos son susceptibles de genera un valor superior para el cliente y, por tanto, una ventaja competitiva sostenible. Bajo esta perspectiva, ser\u00e1n los recursos y capacidades basados en el mercado los que pueden contribuir a una mayor generaci\u00f3n de valor, destacando la orientaci\u00f3n al mercado. as\u00ed, el segundo de los objetivos consiste en analizar la relaci\u00f3n entre la orientaci\u00f3n al mercado de la empresa y el valor para el cliente. adem\u00e1s, para que la cultura de orientaci\u00f3n al mercado se traduzca en un mayor valor para el cliente deber\u00e1 basarse en el desarrollo de una serie de capacidades: la capacidad de percepci\u00f3n, la capacidad de relaci\u00f3n con el mercado y la capacidad de innovaci\u00f3n. Igualmente, se analiza el papel de la gesti\u00f3n del conocimiento de la organizaci\u00f3n en el despliegue de la orientaci\u00f3n al mercado y en el desarrollo del resto de capacidades necesarias para la creaci\u00f3n de valor. finalmente, se trata de determinar si la generaci\u00f3n de un valor superior para el cliente se traducir\u00e1, finalmente, en un rendimiento superior. para conseguir estos objetivos se desarrolla una investigaci\u00f3n emp\u00edrica que tiene por objeto de las entidades aseguradoras dirigidas a particulares que operan a nivel nacional, as\u00ed como, los clientes
