Sublateritium, mediada por a. Tumefaciens. Se ha demostrado la importancia de utilizar secuencias promotoras pertenecientes, al menos, a la misma subdivisi\u00f3n (basidiomycotina) para transformar eficientemente especies del g\u00e9nero hypholoma. Se ha observado una fuerte relaci\u00f3n entre el ph del medio de cultivo y la producci\u00f3n de \u00e1cido clav\u00e1rico en los distintos medios de cultivo ensayados. Tambi\u00e9n se ha observado la influencia de distintos factores sobre la producci\u00f3n de \u00e1cido clav\u00e1rico, como son la adici\u00f3n de cobre, la agitaci\u00f3n del cultivo o la suplementaci\u00f3n con aceite. Se han identificado en el genoma de la cepa hs898 de h. Sublateritium dos genes que codifican para enzimas muy importantes en la bios\u00edntesis de esteroles y \u00e1cido clav\u00e1rico, erg1 y osc1; estos genes fueron clonados y secuenciados. El gen erg1 de 1659 pb, codifica para una prote\u00edna de 461 amino\u00e1cidos con una masa molecular deducida de 49,079 kda. La prote\u00edna codificada por dicho gen, presenta las regiones conservadas de uni\u00f3n a fad caracter\u00edsticas de algunas monooxigenasas. La sobreexpresi\u00f3n del gen erg1, conlleva un incremento en la producci\u00f3n de \u00e1cido clav\u00e1rico acorde con el aumento en la dosis g\u00e9nica aunque tambi\u00e9n aumenta el crecimiento del micelio. La atenuaci\u00f3n del gen erg1 genera un fenotipo t\u00edpico dependiente de ergosterol (los transformantes s\u00f3lo crecen si al medio de cultivo se a\u00f1ade ergosterol), lo que sugiere que el gen erg1 posiblemente est\u00e9 involucrado en el metabolismo primario de h. Sublateritium, y tambi\u00e9n en el metabolismo secundario, ya que disminuye la producci\u00f3n de \u00e1cido clav\u00e1rico. El gen osc1 de 2840 pb, codifica para una prote\u00edna de 721 amino\u00e1cidos con una masa molecular deducida de 82,388 kda. La prote\u00edna codificada por dicho gen, presenta las regiones conservadas \u00abqw\u00bb caracter\u00edsticas de la mayor\u00eda de las terpenociclasas.
