Asimismo, las sucesivas crisis del petr\u00f3leo y la tendencia al empleo de materias primas renovables hace necesario el desarrollo de nuevas formulaciones. En esta l\u00ednea se han desarrollado la presente tesis. El objetivo fundamental ha sido sustituci\u00f3n de fenol por tanino en la s\u00edntesis de resinas fen\u00f3licas de tipo novolaca. Los taninos forman parte de la fracci\u00f3n extra\u00edble de los \u00e1rboles y plantas. Si bien, incluso industrialmente, se ha empleado tanino en la modificaci\u00f3n de resinas fen\u00f3licas de tipo resol, no se hab\u00eda desarrollado hasta ahora un material basado en novolaca modificada con tanino.  para alcanzar los objetivos planteados, se ha analizado la reactividad de taninos comerciales de mimosa, quebracho, casta\u00f1o y pinto con hexamina, agente de articulaci\u00f3n empleado habitualmente en el curado de las resinas novolaca convencionales. Para ello se han analizado los par\u00e1metros cin\u00e9ticos obtenidos a partir de los termogramas de dsc. Los resultados obtenidos indican que los taninos de mimosa y casta\u00f1o para la s\u00edntesis de novolacas modificadas, descartando el tanino de quebracho, dado que su naturaleza qu\u00edmica es muy similar a la del de mimosa, y el tanino de pino, ya que su elevada reactividad con formaldeh\u00eddo no permite la s\u00edntesis de novolacas. las resinas as\u00ed obtenidas presentan tiempos de curado menores que las resinas convencionales. Adem\u00e1s, el an\u00e1lisis de las propiedades mec\u00e1nicas de los materiales obtenidos a partir de las resinas curadas con hexamina indica que se mantiene la rigidez original de las resinas fen\u00f3licas. Por lo tanto, es posible sustituir el fenol por taninos, materia prima obtenidas a partir de una fuente de energ\u00eda renovable.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
