Dicha interacci\u00f3n est\u00e1 mediada por los estados 5d dela tierra rara, de forma que su descripci\u00f3n magnet\u00edca es necesaria para el completo entendimiento de las propiedades magn\u00e9ticas deestos compuestos.Sin embargo, hoy en d\u00eda nos encontramos ante la falta de esta informaci\u00f3n. No existe un modelo te\u00f3rico que describacuantitativamente los estados 5d. De la misma manera, las magnetometr\u00edas convencionales no nos permiten separar la respuestamagn\u00e9tica de estos estados que permanece oculta por la respuesta mucho mayor de los estados r(4f) y t(3d).La aparici\u00f3n de la t\u00e9cnica de dicroismo circular magn\u00e9tico en la absorci\u00f3n de rayos x (xmcd) permite, en principio, obtener porseparado una respuesta de los estados 5d de la tierra rara simplemente sintonizando las transiciones electr\u00f3nicas correspondientes alos umbrales l2,3 de la tierra rara. Sin embargo, los resultados obtenidos mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n de las reglas de suma en losumbrales l2,3 de la tierra rara no est\u00e1n de acuerdo con el conocimiento actual sobre el magnetismo de estos compuestos. Estasituaci\u00f3n indica que no se tiene una correcta interpretaci\u00f3n sobre el origen de estas se\u00f1ales dicroicas. A pesar de los esfuerzosrealizados hasta la fecha tanto desde el punto de vista te\u00f3rico como experimental, todav\u00eda no se ha alcanzado un completoentendimiento de estas se\u00f1ales.Ante esta situaci\u00f3n nos hemos planteado la necesidad de llevar a cabo un estudio exhaustivo de las se\u00f1ales xmcd en los umbralesl2,3 de la tierra rara. Por otro lado, con el objetivo de buscar v\u00edas alternativas para obtener la descripci\u00f3n magn\u00e9tica de la banda deconducci\u00f3n, este estudio de los umbrales l2,3 se complementa con un
