La capacidad de digerir el adn resulta de gran inter\u00e9s en el campo de la medicina y la biotecnolog\u00eda por el uso potencial de los complejos met\u00e1licos como agentes antitumorales. en primer lugar se sintetizaron y caracterizaron sulfonamidas n-sustituidas a partir de adenina, 2-amino-4,5-dimetiltiazol y 2-picolilamina. Con estos ligandos se han preparado distintos complejos de cu(ii) mononucleares y polinucleares que han sido caracterizados estructural y espectrosc\u00f3picamente. En particular, destacan las propiedades magn\u00e9ticas de los complejos polinucleares.  con los complejos caracterizados, se ha estudiado la capacidad y la forma de interacci\u00f3n de los nuevos complejos con el adn utilizando para ello la t\u00e9cnica de espectroscop\u00eda de fluorescencia, el an\u00e1lisis de la temperatura de fusi\u00f3n del adn y medidas mec\u00e1nicas como la viscosimetr\u00eda. Donde se ha observado la distinta forma de interacci\u00f3n de los complejos con los \u00e1cidos nucleicos (intercalaci\u00f3n, interacci\u00f3n por los surcos o interacci\u00f3n de esfera externa). se ha ensayado la actividad nucleasa de los complejos mediante la t\u00e9cnica de electrof\u00f3resis en gel de agarosa. Tambi\u00e9n se ha estudiado cin\u00e9ticamente el proceso de degradaci\u00f3n de la forma superenrrollada del adn a forma circular. Se ha estudiado la actividad nucleasa de los complejos en presencia de distintos agentes inhibidores para establecer las especies reactivas de ox\u00edgeno implicadas en la escisi\u00f3n de la doble h\u00e9lice. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto la elevada actividad nucleasa de los complejos y las especies implicadas en la degradaci\u00f3n del adn.
