Debido a su reducido tama\u00f1o, estas nanoestructuras son capaces de confinar especialmente los electrones que se hallen en su interior. Es por ello que presentan unas propiedades m\u00e1s parecidas alas de un \u00e1tomo que las de una estructura semiconductora. Todo ello conduce a que se espere una mejora en la eficiencia de funcionamiento de los dispositivos basados en saqds. el estudio te\u00f3rico ha sido dividido en tres grandes bloques bien diferenciados.  en primer lugar, se ha abordado el estudio de las propiedades el\u00e1sticas haciendo uso del m\u00e9todo de las inclusiones de eshelby y el estudio del potencial interno mediante la teor\u00eda de electromagnestimos. posteriormente se ha estudiado la estructura electr\u00f3nica recurriendo al m\u00e9todo k.P y a la teor\u00eda de la masa efectiva.  finalmente se ha tratado el problema de la interacci\u00f3n entre los electrones confinados en un saqd recurriendo al m\u00e9todo de la interacci\u00f3n de configuraciones. los resultados num\u00e9ricos obtenidos en cada una de
