Existen pocos estudios que hayan comparado la exactitud de los localizadores electr\u00f3nicos de \u00e1pice de tercera y cuarta generaci\u00f3n. La evaluaci\u00f3n de la exactitud de estos localizadores electr\u00f3nicos nos permite identificar cient\u00edficamente cual de estos m\u00e9todos nos proporciona una medici\u00f3n m\u00e1s exacta del punto donde deben terminar todas nuestras preparaciones endod\u00f3ncicas.     fueron seleccionados 100 dientes humanos monoradiculares. Para la localizaci\u00f3n electr\u00f3nica de la longitud de trabajo se utiliz\u00f3 un modelo de alginato dividiendo los espec\u00edmenes en 4 grupos (n=25). Para el grupo 1 se emple\u00f3 el root zx siguiendo las instrucciones del fabricante, mientras que par el grupo 2 se utiliz\u00f3 la marca \u00abapex\u00bb como punto de referencia. Para el grupo 3 se emple\u00f3 el elementos diagnostic unit siguiendo las instrucciones del fabricante mientras que para el grupo 4 se utiliz\u00f3 la marca \u00ab00\u00bb como punto de referencia.     en ninguno de los cuatro casos, los localizadores nos proporcionan una medici\u00f3n aproximada a la real o esperada. Los aparatos tienen una buena precisi\u00f3n pero su exactitud es inadecuada.
