En este trabajo se ha dise\u00f1ado, construido y luego validado el uso del ensayo miniatura de punzonado, (emp) para la determinaci\u00f3n de las caracter\u00edsticas mec\u00e1nicas fundamentales de los materiales: m\u00f3dulo el\u00e1stico, l\u00edmite el\u00e1stico, resistencia mec\u00e1nica, ductilidad, energ\u00eda de fractura y temperatura de transici\u00f3n d\u00factil-fr\u00e1gil. Los diversos par\u00e1metros del ensayo han sido evaluados y analizados. Se ha utilizado diferentes materiales, tales como aceros estructurales, aceros austen\u00edticos, aceros d\u00faplex y tambi\u00e9n se ha aplicado el ensayo para la caracterizaci\u00f3n de zonas afectadas t\u00e9rmicamente en operaciones de soldeo y para estudiar el efecto de realizar adiciones de zirconio a materiales de matriz de aluminio.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de
