Suscaracter\u00edsticas estructurales \u00fanicas y sus excepcionales propiedades fisicas y qu\u00edmicas hacen pensar en ellos como candidatos muyprometedores para m\u00faltiples aplicaciones en \u00e1reas tan dispares como la electr\u00f3nica, la ciencia de los materiales o la medicina. En laactualidad, dos retos contin\u00faan vigentes en cuanto a su producci\u00f3n. Por una parte, la obtenci\u00f3n de cnts en grandes cantidades,suficientemente puros y con las propiedades que interesen en cada caso de cara a aplicaciones m\u00e1sicas de tipo energ\u00e9tico(supercondensadores y bater\u00edas) o para materiales compuestos. Por otra parte, el control de su producci\u00f3n para su utilizaci\u00f3n ennano-electr\u00f3nica, para la construcci\u00f3n de dispositivos de emisi\u00f3n de campo o como sensores moleculares. En este sentido, esimprescindible un crecimiento directo de los cnts sobre un substrato en posiciones controladas y con una orientaci\u00f3n ycaracter\u00edsticas predefinidas. En ambos aspectos, la principal dificultad radica en el entendimiento de su mecanismo de crecimiento,todav\u00eda no lo suficientemente aclarado, y en la preparaci\u00f3n adecuada del catalizador que determinar\u00e1 en \u00faltima instancia el tipo deestructura crecida.En este marco se ha desarrollado el trabajo experimental de la tesis presentada, cuyo principal objetivo es el crecimiento de cntssobre diferentes tipos de substratos por cvd t\u00e9rmico, abordando el asunto crucial de la deposici\u00f3n del catalizador mediante unm\u00e9todo qu\u00edmico y otro f\u00edsico.En la memoria del trabajo se describe el estudio y optimizaci\u00f3n de las distintas etapas implicas en el proceso global decrecimiento, se recoge la caracterizaci\u00f3n de todas las muestras por distintas
