Diaspidadae), esta considerado como una de las tres plagas mas importantes de c\u00edtricos junto con la mosca del mediterr\u00e1neo, ceratitis capitata wiedemann (diptera; tephritidae), y la ara\u00f1a roja, tetranychus urticae koch (acari; tetranychidae) esta plaga, a pesar de todos los tratamientos qu\u00edmicos que se realizan para su control, se encuentra por encima del umbral econ\u00f3mico de da\u00f1os. se constata, tras un muestreo realizado a lo largo de un a\u00f1o, que aphytis chiysompha\/i (mercet) (hym.; Aphelinidae) es el parasitoide mayoritario de esta cochinilla en la comunidad Valenciana, a pesar de todas las sueltas realizadas desde los a\u00f1os 70 de la especie a.  Melinus debach, parasitoide te\u00f3ricamente m\u00e1s eficaz en otros paises. Junto a estas dos especies se ha verificado el establecimiento de a. Lingnanensis compere en castell\u00f3n, tras repetidas sueltas, asi como se ha descrito la presencia de dos nuevas especies de parasitoides sobre a aurantii. Aphytis hispanicus (mercet), parasitoide habitual de p. Pergandii (comstock) (hem.; Diaspidadae) pero no de a. Aurantii en espalia; y una especie que podr\u00eda tratarse de un nuevo tax\u00f3n para la ciencia y que hasta el momento de su pr\u00f3xima descripci\u00f3n se ha denominado aphytis sp. Grupo lingnanensis.  de esta especie destacan como caracter\u00edsticas principales la pigmentaci\u00f3n casi absoluta de la pupa (fundamentalmente cabeza y t\u00f3rax), la exuvia tambi\u00e9n oscura y la cr\u00e9nula solapada en el adulto. Junto a este grupo de ectoparasitoides, tambi\u00e9n se ha realizado la introducci\u00f3n de dos nuevos  endoparasitoides del piojo rojo de california en la peninsula ib\u00e9rica, dentro de un programa de control biol\u00f3gico cl\u00e1sico. Comperiella bifasciata (howard) (hym.; Encyrtidae) y encarsia perniciosi (tower) (hym.; Aphelindae).
