Para llevar a cabo este estudio hemos utilizado cultivos celulares adenohipofisarios porcinos y de rata, as\u00ed como tumores hipofisarios humanos y la l\u00ednea tumoral att20. en primer lugar, hemos establecido que la ruta de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1al del \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico\/gmpc media la acci\u00f3n estimuladora de la ghrelina sobre las somatotropas porcinas formando parte dela compleja red de se\u00f1ales que median la liberaci\u00f3n de gh.  en segundo lugar, se ha establecido la respuesta diferencial de las somatotropas porcinas a diferentes compuestos agonistas pept\u00eddicos del receptor de grelina (ghs-r). Adem\u00e1s, hemos establecido que ghrelina ejerce su efecto sobre las somatotropas a trav\u00e9s de la isoforma larga de su receptor (ghs-r 1a) y que la activaci\u00f3n del sistema ghrelina\/ghs-rs es fundamental para que la ghrh, principal regulador de la secreci\u00f3n de gh, ejerza su acci\u00f3n activadora.  por otro lado, en cultivos adenohipofisarios de rata, hemos descubierto que las adipoquinas resistina y adiponectina participan en la regulaci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n de la gh, tanto a nivel de la secreci\u00f3n de la hormona como regulando la expresi\u00f3n de los receptores de los principales secretagogos de la gh. Adem\u00e1s, adiponectina tambi\u00e9n controla la actividad de las c\u00e9lulas gonadotropas.  los estudios de expresi\u00f3n en c\u00e9lulas de adenomas hipofisairos humanos y en la l\u00ednea celular de corticotropas att20, nos han permitido determinar que las corticotropas pueden ser productoras de resistina y de adiponectina, estando la expresi\u00f3n de esta \u00faltima sometida a la regulaci\u00f3n de m\u00faltiples factores entre los que se incluyen los glucocorticoides, crf, la propia adiponectina y los receptores nucleares ppar-. por lo tanto, nuestros resultados aportan una
