Adem\u00e1s, este m\u00e9todo se distingue por su versatilidad, ya que permite obtener nanopart\u00edculas depositadas o embebidas en la matriz, en especial en el caso de la sepiolita. La ruta de preparaci\u00f3n de nanocompuestos seguida consistente en la formaci\u00f3n \u00abin situ\u00bb de nanopart\u00edculas met\u00e1licas u \u00f3xidos met\u00e1licos a partir de diferentes precursores (nitratos, acetatos, etc), en matrices de al\u00famina y sepiolita. Posteriormente, mediante un tratamiento t\u00e9rmico en atm\u00f3sfera controlada se obtienen los correspondientes compuestos nanometal-matriz aislante. Las nanopart\u00edculas se soportan o embeben en la matriz en funci\u00f3n de las condiciones del proceso y de la matriz empleada.  en el caso de la matriz de al\u00famina, se han obtenido distintos tama\u00f1os de part\u00edcula en funci\u00f3n del n\u00famero de centros activos y cristalinidad de las distintas fases empleadas. Se han obtenido nanopart\u00edculas de plata homog\u00e9neamente distribuidas con un tama\u00f1o menor de 5 nm en el caso de la fase eta debido al elevado n\u00famero de centros activos como consecuencia de su baja cristalinidad, de entre 10 y 20 nm en el caso de la fase alfa y mayor de 20 nm en el de la fase delta. por otro lado, se emple\u00f3 la sepiolita como matriz debido a su peculiar estructura y su mecanismo de plegamiento producido como resultado del proceso de deshidrataci\u00f3n, el cual permite obtener peque\u00f1as nanopart\u00edculas perfectamente dispersas en las microfibras.
