Ello, unido a los potenciales efectos da\u00f1inos de esta radiaci\u00f3n sobre la salud humana hacen que exista un gran inter\u00e9s en cuantificar de forma precisa la radiaci\u00f3n uv que alcanza la superficie terrestre. Dentro de este marco, el objetivo principal de la investigaci\u00f3n realizada es la estimaci\u00f3n de la radiaci\u00f3n solar uv en extremadura mediante el empleo de modelos emp\u00edricos.  para ello, en primer lugar, es necesario medir valores precisos de radiaci\u00f3n uv en superficie. En este sentido, se ha propuesto un novedoso procedimiento de calibraci\u00f3n que recoge adecuadamente la mayor parte de la dependencia con la altura solar mostrada por los m\u00e9todos existentes fabricantes eran inexactos, siendo necesario calibrar peri\u00f3dicamente, al menos cada dos a\u00f1os, los instrumentos de medida.  por otra parte, se ha puesto de manifiesto que la radiaci\u00f3n uv presenta dependencias de tipo potencial con la cantidad total de ozono,, el \u00edndice de claridad y la masa \u00f3ptica relativa. As\u00ed, se ha propuesto un modelo emp\u00edrico completo que caracteriza m\u00e1s de un 95% de la variabilidad que presenta la radiaci\u00f3n uv en badajoz, c\u00e1ceres y plasencia.  finalmente, se ha ensayado exitosamente la aplicaci\u00f3n de los modelos emp\u00edricos a la predicci\u00f3n del \u00edndice uv para cielo despejado, la reconstrucci\u00f3n de lagunas de datos y la estimaci\u00f3n
