A partir de la respuesta de la interfase (voltametr\u00eda c\u00edclica) en funci\u00f3n de la concentraci\u00f3n de un determinado i\u00f3n en disoluci\u00f3n, en condiciones de fuerza i\u00f3nica constante, es posible determinar la magnitud (concentraci\u00f3n superficial) de la adsorci\u00f3n espec\u00edfica del i\u00f3n en estudio. Este m\u00e9todo se aplic\u00f3 para la caracterizaci\u00f3n de cloruro, bromuro, (bi)sulfato e hidr\u00f3geno sobre pt(111),pudi\u00e9ndose explicar los comportamientos de estas especies por sus distintas propiedades de adsorci\u00f3n.  en ciertas condiciones, este an\u00e1lisis puede extenderse a los procesos de adsorci\u00f3n no-espec\u00edfica. Debido a la menor magnitud de estos \u00fatlimos, este estudio requiere una precisi\u00f3n y exactitud significativamente mayores que en los casos de adsorci\u00f3n espec\u00edfica.  por otra parte, el an\u00e1lisis de la respuesta interfacial en funci\u00f3n de la temperatura, en base a la aplicaci\u00f3n de la ecuaci\u00f3n electrocapilar, proporciona informaci\u00f3n muy importante sobre el estado de especies interfaciales. Este an\u00e1lisis requiere de la combinaci\u00f3n de medidas de voltametr\u00eda c\u00edclica y potencial de carga total cero en funci\u00f3n de la temperatura,  proporcionando una estimaci\u00f3n de la entrop\u00eda absoluta de especies adsorbidas. La extensi\u00f3n de este an\u00e1lisis a procesos de adsorci\u00f3n no-espec\u00edfica requer\u00eda la realizaci\u00f3n de un n\u00famero de experiencias excesivo, siendo muy dif\u00edcil satisfacer los requerimientos de precisi\u00f3n y exactitud.
