La transformaci\u00f3n de estos 1,4-dioles en 1,2-dioles y 1,2 aminoalcoholes protegidos en forma acetales, acarbonatos, acettos o carbamatos se ha realizado estereoselectivamente mediatne diferentes procesos de transferencia de quiralidad.     en primer lugar, se estudi\u00f3 la preparaci\u00f3n enanito- y diastereoselectiva de los 2-alquin-1,4-dioles bas\u00e1ndonos en la adici\u00f3n de acetiluros de zinc a aldeh\u00eddos mediada por binoles o aminolacoholes quirales. En estas condicones se pudieron sintetizar estereoselectivamente 1,4-dioles que pose\u00edan cadenas lineales y arom\u00e1ticas. A continuaci\u00f3n, se exploraron las transformaciones de 1,4-dioles en 1,2-dioles y 1,2-aminoalcoholes v\u00eda transferencia de quiralidad. Se intent\u00f3 primero la formaci\u00f3n de 1,2-dioles protegidos en forma de acetales empleando cat\u00e1lisis de pd(ii) con un \u00e9xito limitado debido a problemas de regio- y diastereoslectividad. Mucho m\u00e1s prometedora fue la preparaci\u00f3n estereoselectiva de 1,2-dioles protegidos como carbonatos c\u00edclicos. A partir de monocarbonatos derivados de 1,4-dioles y usando cat\u00e1lisis de pd(0), se desarroll\u00f3 una metodolog\u00eda para preparar trans-dioxolanonas que dieron acceso a sin-1,2-dioles. De la misma manera, la protecci\u00f3n de los 1,4-dioles en forma de monocarbamatos permiti\u00f3 el acceso a trans-oxazolidinonas que permitieron la preparaci\u00f3n de sin-1,2-aminolacoholes. Por \u00faltimo, tambi\u00e9n se estudiaron procesos de inducci\u00f3n asim\u00e9trica del tipo 1,3. As\u00ed, a partir de 1,4-dioles protegidos en forma de dicacetatos, se pudieron obtener estereoselectivamente 1,2-diacetatos in o anti utilizando una transposici\u00f3n sigmatr\u00f3pica [3,3] mediada pro pd(ii).     finalmente, se han empleado las diferentes metodolog\u00edas desarrolladas en esta tesis para sintetizar el d-arabitol pentacetate y un producto natural: la
