Este trabajo lo decid\u00ed desde mi perplejidad por la distancia, al menos aparente, entre las actitudes ante la vida que manten\u00edan hombres y mujeres del mundo rural y las que se manifestaban en las grandes urbes. Como dir\u00eda mar\u00eda zambrano cuando afirma que novela y poes\u00eda han reflejado, mejor que la historia: \u00abel verdadero pasar, la verdad de las cosas que le pasan al hombre y su sentido \u00edntimo. La historia para ser completa, total y verdaderamente humana, habr\u00e1 de descender hasta los lugares m\u00e1s secretos del ser, hasta eso que nuestro idioma con tanta belleza denomina \u00ablas entra\u00f1as\u00bb. Las entra\u00f1as son lo menos visible, no solo por no serlo, sino por resistirse a serlo. Y las entra\u00f1as son la sede de los sentimientos\u00bb (1996, 123). Con mar\u00eda zambrano me pregunto, por una parte \u00c2\u00bfqu\u00e9 son los sentimientos y, a rengl\u00f3n seguido: \u00abc\u00f3mo pueden historiarse?\u00bb. considero que un enfoque antropol\u00f3gico es propicio para auscultar el meollo y desenmara\u00f1ar las apuestas de la educaci\u00f3n sentimental. Opt\u00e9 por el an\u00e1lisis antropol\u00f3gico por creer que desde este enfoque era posible desvelar la insidiosa influencia de la mimesis y el peso de la met\u00e1fora sobre nuestras formas de ser y nuestras maneras de estar. en esta tesis intento desenmara\u00f1ar la desigual formaci\u00f3n del sentimiento que marca el g\u00e9nero y dilucidar de qu\u00e9 modo la devoci\u00f3n contribuye a ello, de qu\u00e9 modo las met\u00e1foras religiosas pesan sobre nuestros comportamientos y en qu\u00e9 modo participan en el proceso del pensar y sugieren los
