Existen dos grupos denominados a y b, en funci\u00f3n de su afinidad por los ligados. Nuestros resultados demuestran que eph b2 y eph b3 intervienen en diversos aspectos funcionales e histol\u00f3gicos en el timo. concretamente, estas ephs, expresadas en timocitos, juegan papeles aut\u00f3nomos y no completamente redundantes en su propia diferenciaci\u00f3n y supervivencia. en el caso de eph b2, se ha determinado, que la se\u00f1al ephrina b reverse, inducida por el timocito en la c\u00e9lula con la que interacciona, es suficiente para permitir la transici\u00f3n entre los estados dn y dp. Y que la se\u00f1al eph b foreard, es necesaria en el paso de dp a sp.  respecto a eph b3, tambi\u00e9n interviene, en menor medida, en la diferenciaci\u00f3n de dn a dp,  afectando principalmente, la supervivencia de los timocitos dp. A su vez, ambos determinan la organizaci\u00f3n in vivo de la red epitelial t\u00edmica. La se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n eph b-ephrina b determina, desde un primer momento, la organizaci\u00f3n tridimensional de timocitos y c\u00e9lulas epiteliales, en un modelo de rtocs. Del mismo modo, eph b2 y eph b3 intervienen en la capacidad de asociaci\u00f3n timocito dp-tec y de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n v\u00eda tcr. De manera que la presencia de una se\u00f1al unidireccional o nula, de eph b2-ephrina b, determina la mayor o menor capacidad de adhesi\u00f3n, respectivamente, entre dp y tec, respecto a la condici\u00f3n wild tyupe bidireccional. Finalmente, debemos destacar que la estimaci\u00f3n, en timocitos dp, de ephs o ephrimas b no modifica la apoptosis espont\u00e1nea, pero su coestimulaci\u00f3n modula, de forma dosis dependiente, la apoptosis inducida por anticuerpos anti-cd3. En conjunto, todos estos datos implican que la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n eph b-ephrina b condiciona la interacci\u00f3n timocito-tec, la cual es importante no s\u00f3lo para el desarrollo el tilmocito, sino tambi\u00e9n para las propias tecs, as\u00ed como para las respuestas muestras que se producen entre ambas c\u00e9lulas.
