Esta importante expansi\u00f3n que est\u00e1n sufriendo estos sistemas que se caracterizan por mimetizar el mecanismo de acci\u00f3n de los anticuerpos en el organismo, siendo denominados en numerosas publicaciones como \u00abreceptores sint\u00e9ticos\u00bb, no ha pasado desapercibida en el \u00e1rea de la electroqu\u00edmica.     en la d\u00e9cada de los 90, la modificaci\u00f3n de las superficies electr\u00f3dicas de distintas naturaleza a partir de pol\u00edmeros sint\u00e9ticos electrogenerados supuso una importante mejora de las distintas t\u00e9cnicas electroan\u00e1liticas y que permit\u00edan disminuir el l\u00edmite de detecci\u00f3n en las distintas t\u00e9cnicas pudiendo llegar a niveles que ser\u00eda pr\u00e1cticamente imposible alcanzar mediante un electrodo no modificado. Sobre estas modificaciones electr\u00f3dicas, con el desarrollo de los mip, se introdujo un nuevo objetivo: generar en el pol\u00edmero sintetizado sobre la superficie del electrodo cavidades complementarias al analito en inter\u00e9s. Este hecho, permitir\u00eda en principio la determinaci\u00f3n de un compuesto de modo selectivo en muestras donde pudieran interferir distintas sustancias evit\u00e1ndose procesos de extracci\u00f3n y acelerando el tiempo de an\u00e1lisis.     hasta la fecha, el desarrollo de mip sobre dispositivos electroqu\u00edmicos hab\u00eda sido llevado a cabo a trav\u00e9s de la s\u00edntesis polim\u00e9rica sobre electrodos de distintos tama\u00f1os y naturalezas por polimerizaci\u00f3n radical.
