La isoenzima cyp206, que presenta variabilidad genetica, esta involucrada en el metabolismo de numerosos farmacos asi como de carcinogenos implicados en enfermedades malignas como la neoplasia de pulmon.  el presente trabajo trata de esclarecer la relacion del gen polimorfico cyp206 con el riesgo de desarrollar cancer de mama. Para ello se ha estudiado a 187 mujeres que presentaban la enfermedad y a 151 mujeres sanas que integraban el grupo control. Se ha encontrado un exceso de la mutacion b del gen cyp206 en mujeres postmenopausicas con cancer de mama, asi como del fenotipo metabolizador intermedio inferido del genotipo, tanto en mujeres pre como postmenopausicas.
