Este hecho podr\u00eda deberse a la compensaci\u00f3n funcional de la ausencia de prb por parte de otras prote\u00ednas, cuya regulaci\u00f3n, estructura o funci\u00f3n pueda ser similar.  la mayor\u00eda de los c\u00e1nceres humanos proceden de c\u00e9lulas epiteliales. Este trabajo se centra en el estudio de p130, p107 (los otros miembros de la familia de retinoblastoma) y de p21 (que comparte secuencias con p107 y p130 y su papel como regulador del ciclo celular), en los procesos de proliferaci\u00f3n, diferenciaci\u00f3n y carcinog\u00e9nesis epitelial en modelos murinos deficientes en prb y p107, p130 o p21. Los datos deficientes en prb y p107 mueren prematuramente, por lo que mediante el empleo de metodolog\u00edas como el trasplante de piel prb-; p107 -\/-, inyecciones subcut\u00e1neas de queratinocitos deficientes en prb y p107 infectados con v-ha-ras, o carcinog\u00e9nesis qu\u00edmica en ratones prb-;p107 +\/-, se ha demostrado que p107 es capaz de actuar como supresor tumoral de manera haplosuficiente, en piel, en ausencia de prb. por otro lado tras el estudio del fenotipo epid\u00e9rmico  y an\u00e1lisis de los cambios genios de queratinocitos, de ratones deficientes en prb y p130 se puede concluir que a pesar de los numerosos cambios genios que esta deficiencia conlleva, p130 no es capaz de compensar el fenotipo en piel de los ratones deficientes en prb.  finalmente, el estudio preliminar de los ratones deficientes de prb y p21 demuestra una cooperaci\u00f3n de ambas prote\u00ednas en los procesos de tumorig\u00e9nesis de epitelios estratificados, as\u00ed como en la
