La fase de deformacion d1 y la mayor parte de la deformacion d2 corresponden a un evento tectonico comprensivo, responsable del engrosamiento cortical en el macizo. A este regimen tectonico comprensivo se superpone otro extensional coincidente con el pico termico regional, el cual se alcanza en la zona (o localidades) de la estaurolita y distena (zona de cizalla de kef el mouneb y zona de cizalla de ouled zednes) o en la zona de la estaurolita (formacion de skhour y rehamna oriental).  las condiciones del paroxismo termico regional en la formacion de skhour fueron 492 +\/- 5 c &#8211; 8.15 +\/- 0.01 kb en la zona del granate y 560 +\/-6 c &#8211; 8.65 +\/- 0.03 kb en la zona de la estaurolita; en rehamna oriental, estas condiciones fueron 420 +\/- 10 c &#8211; 3.8 +\/- 0.9 kb en la zona de la biotita, 448 +\/- 7.8 c &#8211; 5.52 +\/- 0.07 kb en la zona del granate y 532 +\/- 28 c &#8211; 7 +\/- 0.05 kb en la zona de la estaurolita.  el episodio tectonotermal retrogrado, correspondiente a un enfriamiento descompresivo, se inicia en los momentos finales de la tectonica extensional y durante la tercera fase de plegamiento f3. Estos episodios deformacionales se encuentran en el origen de la denudacion y del levantamiento del edificio estructural, que termino alcanzando condiciones relativamente superficiales
