Esta metodolog\u00eda permite la construcci\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica y rigurosa de modelos integrales de planta capaces de reproducir las mutuas interrelaciones entre los diferentes elementos de las l\u00edneas de aguas y fangos, garantizando en todo momento la continuidad de masa elemental y carga. La nueva metodolog\u00eda desarrollada, denominada metodolog\u00eda pwm (plant wide modelling) est\u00e1 basada en la utilizaci\u00f3n de una lista gen\u00e9rica de transformaciones de las que se eligen las m\u00e1s adecuadas para los procesos que tienen lugar en cada edar objeto de estudio. La definici\u00f3n de los componentes en sus fracciones m\u00e1sicas elementales permite garantizar la continuidad de masa y carga en cada transformaci\u00f3n y a lo largo de toda la
