En particular, este trabajo se ha centrado en el an\u00e1lisis de las tensiones residuales desarrolladas en estos dos procesos con el objetivo de aportar conocimiento \u00fatil y estrategias que ayuden a atenuar las mismas.  se denominan tensiones residuales a las tensiones que quedan atrapadas en un objeto cuando no se aplica ninguna carga externa. Numerosos estudios te\u00f3ricos y pr\u00e1cticos han destacado la influencia de las tensiones residuales en las caracter\u00edsticas en servicio de los perfiles de acero (reducci\u00f3n de la capacidad de carga de las vigas estructurales y propagaci\u00f3n de grietas en ra\u00edles de trenes, por mencionar algunos de los efectos).  a trav\u00e9s del modelado de estos procesos mediante ef se pretende contar con una herramienta flexible de an\u00e1lisis de la formaci\u00f3n de dichas tensiones residuales, alternativa a la obtenci\u00f3n de estas tensiones de forma experimental pues, \u00e9sta resulta complicada y con un consumo de tiempo apreciable. Gracias a la participaci\u00f3n de empresas del sector (ptg y va) y al valioso trabajo del instituto de investigaci\u00f3n bfi en el proyecto europeo que dio origen a esta tesis (testra, rfs-cr-03012) ha sido posible tener a disposici\u00f3n datos y resultados experimentales de vital importancia para la calibraci\u00f3n y validaci\u00f3n de los modelos creados con ef.  adem\u00e1s del an\u00e1lisis de los procesos mencionados mediante el modelado por ef, se ha planteado una metodolog\u00eda basada en algoritmos gen\u00e9ticos para mejorar el proceso de enderezamiento. A trav\u00e9s de esta metodolog\u00eda se pretende encontrar los valores de la deflexi\u00f3n de los rodillos m\u00e1s adecuados que garanticen unas tensiones residuales m\u00ednimas y una curvatura
