Cerevisiae. Se basa en el uso de mutantes slt2 termosensibles, con un fenotipo complementable por sorbitol, ya que son deficientes en el mantenimiento de la integridad celular. La combinacion de la mutacion slt2 con mutaciones en los genes de proteasas (pep 4 prb1) aumenta la estabilidad de las proteinas liberadas al medio de cultivo. Celulas slt2 transformadas con el gen bacteriano cat despues hasta un 70% de la proteina heterologa cat despues de cambio a 37 grados c o mediante un choque osmotico de celulas preincubadas a 37 grados c en presencia de sorbitol.
