Inicialmente la visi\u00f3n por computador trat\u00f3 de imitar al sistema visual humano, por la cantidad de informaci\u00f3n captadas y procesada es tal, que dicha imitaci\u00f3n  sigue siendo actualmente una utop\u00eda. Por ello, los sistemas de visi\u00f3n por computador se dividen en distintas fases (captaci\u00f3n, preprocesamiento, segmentaci\u00f3n, an\u00e1lisis de formas y clasificaci\u00f3n de objetos) que son estudiadas de manera independiente, aunque existe una gran interrelaci\u00f3n entre todas ellas. Esta tesis aporta un nuevo modelo de visi\u00f3n por computador, centrado en las fases de segmentaci\u00f3n y an\u00e1lisis de formas, buscando en ambos casos una gran velocidad de respuestas. Previamente se analiza cual es el espacio de color id\u00f3neo para alcnazar dicha velocidad. En la fase de segmentaci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes, se comparan dos m\u00e9todos, uno de ellos utilizando una funci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda y otro mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de un umbral. Utilizando el algoritmo definido para la segmentaci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes, en la fase de an\u00e1lisis de formas, se consigue definir una \u00fanica propiedad que describe de manera un\u00edvoca cada uno de los objetos de una base de datos.
