Bel\u00e9n <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En este trabajo se ha estudiado la funci\u00f3n de la glutamina sintetasa (gs) y de la isocitrato deshidrogenada (idh), dos enzimas claves del metabolismo del nitr\u00f3geno y del carbono, implicadas en la asimilaci\u00f3n de amonio y s\u00edntesis de amino\u00e1cidos en plantas. La mayor capacidad de asimilaci\u00f3n de nitr\u00f3geno y la mayor acumulaci\u00f3n de reservas nitrogenadas en los transg\u00e9nicos de gs, son las principales caracter\u00edsticas que determinan el mayor crecimiento vegetativo observado en los ensayos de campo. Las l\u00edneas transg\u00e9nicas de chopo que sobreexpresan gs citos\u00f3lica presentan mayor tolerancia al herbicida fosfinotricina que los \u00e1rboles controles. Esta caracter\u00edstica est\u00e1 asociada la mayor contenido en gas y al mayor desarrollo de la hoja en las l\u00edneas transg\u00e9nicas.     el an\u00e1lisis molecular y filogen\u00e9tico de la idh citos\u00f3lica y su expresi\u00f3n en diferentes tipos celulares en el embri\u00f3n y pl\u00e1ntulas de pino, sugiere que la enzima podr\u00eda estar implicada en diferentes procesos fiisiol\u00f3gicos. En \u00f3rganos no fotosint\u00e9ticos, la expresi\u00f3n de idh est\u00e1 asociada a los haces vasculares, lo que sugiere un posible papel en el desarrollo del sistema vascular. Se ha analizado por primera vez la funci\u00f3n de la idh-nadp+ citos\u00f3lica mediante la sobrexpresi\u00f3n de un gen de pino en populus. Una de las principales caracter\u00edsticas observadas en este estudio es que la sobre producci\u00f3n idh en chopo afecta al desarrollo de la planta. Las hojas j\u00f3venes y el \u00e1pice del tallo de las l\u00edneas transg\u00e9nicas presentan mayor desarrollo del sistema vascular. estos cambios est\u00e1n asociados a un mayor crecimiento vegetativo de la planta. los resultados obtenidos en este trabajo sugieren que la sobreproducci\u00f3n de idh incrementa el flujo de esqueletos carbonados hacia la s\u00edntesis de amino\u00e1cidos.
