As\u00ed se ha estudiado para esta aplicaci\u00f3n el uso de t\u00e9cnicas como la generaci\u00f3n de hidruros acoplada a las spectrscopias de fluorescencia at\u00f3mica (hg-afs) o a la espectrometr\u00eda de masas con plasma acoplada inductivamente (hg-icp-ms), o la espectroscop\u00eda de absorci\u00f3n at\u00f3mica con plasma acoplada inductivamente (icp-aes). Para dichas t\u00e9cnicas se han optimizado y validado diversos par\u00e1metros anal\u00edticos. Posteriormente, se ha estudiado el desarrollo de metodolog\u00eda anal\u00edtica para la determinaci\u00f3n de especies qu\u00edmicas de antimonio. As\u00ed, se ha desarrollado diferentes acoplamientos donde se ha acoplado una t\u00e9cnica de separaci\u00f3n como la cromatograf\u00eda de l\u00edquidos (hplc), con las t\u00e9cnicas espectrosc\u00f3picas at\u00f3micas anteriormente citadas (hg-afs, icp-ms, icp-aes).  el objetivo de dichos estudios era el de poder obtener informaci\u00f3n no \u00fanicamente sobre el contenido total de antimonio, sino tambi\u00e9n sobre las diferentes formas qu\u00edmicas en las que puede estar presente. Dicha informaci\u00f3n es de gran importancia para evaluar la toxicidad o el comportamiento que puede tener metales traza como el antimonio del os ciclos biogeoqu\u00edmicos. posteriormente, se ha aplicado la metodolog\u00eda desarrollada a la determinaci\u00f3n del contenido total de antimonio y el de sus especies en muestras de diferentes or\u00edgenes. As\u00ed, se han analizado suelos superficiales y plantas muestreadas en una antigua regi\u00f3n minera del pirineo donde se hab\u00edan explotado diferentes minerales de antimono a peque\u00f1a escala.
