Dado el origen  multifactorial delas enfermedades y s\u00edntomas psicosom\u00e1ticos, los investigadores han buscado su relaci\u00f3n con una amplia diversidad de variables, adem\u00e1s de analizar su papel como variables explicativas de los s\u00edntomas. Sin embargo, no se han encontrado estudios que hayan utilizado modelos de ecuaciones estructurales, que permitan, adem\u00e1s de contrastar una teor\u00eda determinada, valorar adecuadamente el efecto multivariante de unas variables sobre otras, sin verse afectado por los posibles efectos de colinealidad. Los estudios revisados, utilizan regresi\u00f3n log\u00edstica o regresi\u00f3n m\u00faltiple, lo que limita incluir variables que correlacionen entre s\u00ed y estudiar su efecto sobre los s\u00edntomas, por lo que, el prop\u00f3sito de la investigaci\u00f3n fue aplicar \u00e9sta metodolog\u00eda al estudio de los s\u00edntomas psicosom\u00e1ticos, y evaluar as\u00ed un modelo explicativo. entre los principales resultados del estudio cabe destacar que se confirma que:     1,- el apoyo social percibido, la autoeficacia y la autoestima son predictores del estr\u00e9s.     2,- el estr\u00e9s es predictor del cansancio emocional y de los s\u00edntomas psicosom\u00e1ticos.     3,- el cansancio emocional es predictor de los s\u00edntomas.     4,- el estr\u00e9s juega un importante papel en los s\u00edntomas, ya que tienen efecto director e indirecto sobre ellos.
