Por \u00abfondo no trivial\u00bb se entiende bien un estado distinto del vac\u00edo en un espacio-tiempo plano, o bien un estado arbitrario en un espacio-tiempo curvo. Una vez definido el concepto de cuasipart\u00edculas en situaicones generales, y asumiendo su existencia, el objetivo es extraer sus propiedades b\u00e1sicas.  empezando con el caso del espacio-tiempo plano, para este fin se emplean dos m\u00e9todos distintos: por una parte, se constituye expl\u00edcitamente el estado cu\u00e1ntico correspondiente a la excitaci\u00f3n de cuasipart\u00edcula y se analiza su evoluci\u00f3n temporal, por otra prte, se estudia la representaci\u00f3n espectral de lso propagadores en el espacio de frecuencias. Con ambos m\u00e9todos se llegan a id\u00e9nticos resultados: la energ\u00eda y el ritmo de decaimiento de las cuasipart\u00edculas est\u00e1n gobernados por la parte real e imaginaria del propagador retardado respectivamente. Los resultados obtenidos se aplican al estudio de dos sistemas cu\u00e1nticos concretos.  primero, se estudia la propagaci\u00f3n de una part\u00edcula escalar en un ba\u00f1o t\u00e9rmico de gravitones, haciendo hincapi\u00e9 en las propiedades dispersivas (energ\u00eda). segundo, se estudia la din\u00e1mica de un modelo simplificado de \u00e1tomo, con especial \u00e9nfasis en la propiedades disipativas. Este segundo ejemplo se aprovecha para conectar con otras aproximaciones al estudio de la propagaci\u00f3n en medios no triviales, como pudieran ser las aproximaciones estad\u00edsticas o basadas en primera cuantificaci\u00f3n.     en la segunda parte de la tesis se extienden todas las expresiones al caso del espacio-tiempo curvo, discutiendo los diferentes conceptos de part\u00edcula y cuasipart\u00edcula existentes en el espacio curvo. Trabajando con un concepto cuasi local de cuasipart\u00edcula se recuperan todos los resultados correspondientes al espacio-tiempo plano en el l\u00edmite de
