La investigaci\u00f3n se centra cronol\u00f3gicamente en las cuatro primeras d\u00e9cadas del siglo xx y en una corriente literaria que surge en esta \u00e9poca, a la que denominamos, la radiante insularidad. Se analizan, a trav\u00e9s de distintos enfoques, tomando como base la teor\u00eda literaria, la perspectiva socio-cultural y la historiograf\u00eda peruana, las obras de estos autores. Se conectan sus obras con el desarrollo del imaginario generado por la ciudad moderna y la ciudad de lima en particular. Se establece la importancia del imaginario urbano en el contexto vanguardista. Se analizan los recursos literarios que hacen de estas obras po\u00e9ticas, representaciones de una autonom\u00eda textual a trav\u00e9s de la ficci\u00f3n literaria, de la construcci\u00f3n m\u00edtica y de las relaciones metaf\u00f3ricas y meton\u00edmicas. Por otro lado, se exploran las implicaciones de esta tendencia literaria con su realidad social, de la que se la consideraba desligada, y se evidencia su posici\u00f3n cr\u00edtica frente a la modernidad.
