Se han empleado t\u00e9cnicas de biolog\u00eda molecular para reconstruir las relaciones filogen\u00e9ticos de este grupo de especies y as\u00ed obtener patrones evolutivos que puedan ayudar a resolver cuestiones problem\u00e1ticas en la sistem\u00e1tica del grupo. Se han secuenciado alrededor de 6000 pares de bases correspondientes alas regiones its del n\u00facleo y rps4-trnt-trnl-trnf-trnk-matk del genoma plastidial. Los datos aportados por el adn muestran un patr\u00f3n incongruente con la se\u00f1al aportada por los datos morfol\u00f3gicos, lo que deriva en un nuevo enfoque para la sistem\u00e1tica del grupo con cambios significativos en la composici\u00f3n de los g\u00e9neros y las especies que se incluyen en las familias grimmiaceae\/ptychomitriaceae. Los datos nucleot\u00eddicos revelan adem\u00e1s posibles episodios de reticulaci\u00f3n que parecen jugar un papel muy importante en la evoluci\u00f3n de estas especies y que deber\u00e1 tenerse muy
