El trabajo se fundamenta con  la metodolog\u00eda de la educaci\u00f3n comparada y del an\u00e1lisis de pol\u00edticas, principalmente. El problema del cual se parte es la mercantilizaci\u00f3n de la educaci\u00f3n superior y el papel que desempe\u00f1a la evaluaci\u00f3n en ello.  en primer t\u00e9rmino, aborda la influencia que han tenido en la educaci\u00f3n superior fen\u00f3menos como la globalizaci\u00f3n, el desarrollo de las tecnolog\u00edas de las telecomunicaciones y el nuevo paradigma del conocimiento.  debido a que la evaluaci\u00f3n es el tema central de este trabajo, encontramos una amplia y minuciosa descripci\u00f3n sobre las diferentes definiciones, procedimientos, mecanismos y conceptos asociados a la evaluaci\u00f3n.   asimismo, se analizan los modelos de educaci\u00f3n superior que se han propuesto en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os por los organismos internacionales. De manera particular, trata sobre las pol\u00edticas de la unesco, la organizaci\u00f3n para la cooperaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo econ\u00f3mico, el banco mundial y la uni\u00f3n europea.  posteriormente, se lleva a cabo un an\u00e1lisis comparativo entre el sistema de educaci\u00f3n superior de m\u00e9xico y el de otros pa\u00edses.   por \u00faltimo, se describe dicho sistema, partiendo de las leyes, los planes, y los programas que lo regulan y se contrasta con los lineamientos y pol\u00edticas propuestos desde los organismos internacionales para analizar el impacto que han
