Para el seguimiento de la temperatura del suelo a 50 cm de profundidad se utilizaron geoterm\u00f3metros y sensores de temperatura en 116 zonas de la isla durante el per\u00edodo 2000-2004. Se definieron seis de los nueve reg\u00edmenes de temperatura: hipert\u00e9rmico, t\u00e9rmico, isot\u00e9rmico, m\u00e9sico, isom\u00e9sico y cr\u00edico, estando en duda la presencia del r\u00e9gimen fr\u00edgido. El r\u00e9gimen hipert\u00e9rmico  est\u00e1 asociado a los suelos de la franja costera de la isla tanto en la vertiente norte como sur. El r\u00e9gimen t\u00e9rmico se sit\u00faa a continuaci\u00f3n del anterior tambi\u00e9n en ambas vertientes. El r\u00e9gimen isot\u00e9rmico ocupa la franja entre 200 y 800 m de altitud en la vertiente norte fruto del efecto homogenizador  del mar de nubes. El r\u00e9gimen isom\u00e9sico se localiza exclusivamente en la vertiente norte y est\u00e1 ligado a la zona de influencia directa de la precipitaci\u00f3n de niebla. El r\u00e9gimen m\u00e9sico aparece en la vertiente norte y dorsal central por encima de la capa de estratoc\u00famulos con marcado contraste estacional, tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 presente en la vertical sur en la zona m\u00e1s alta de la vertiente. Por primera vez se define en estas latitudes el r\u00e9gimen cr\u00edico en cotas superiores a 3000 m del volc\u00e1n teide. Las t\u00e9cnicas geoestad\u00edsticas empleadas para la cartograf\u00eda (cokriging) de los reg\u00edmenes de temperatura tambi\u00e9n definen el r\u00e9gimen fr\u00edgido en una peque\u00f1a franja
