La llegada de estos nuevos alumnos plantea mucha veces a nuestras escuelas un dilema que no resulta en absoluto novedoso, a saber, atender en pie de igualdad, aunque de diversas maneras, a todo su alumando.  Con frecuencia se asume que la escuela actual es hoy mucho m\u00e1s diversa porque recibe a alumnos procedentes de otros pa\u00edses. \u00c2\u00bfpero en qu\u00e9 son m\u00e1s diversos realmente estos ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as? \u00c2\u00bfqu\u00e9 diversidad es ciertamente considerada como relevante en los procesos de aprendizaje de estos peque\u00f1os estudiantes? \u00c2\u00bfy en qu\u00e9 medida su diversidad plantea un mayor reto igualitario para las escuelas? en esta tesis doctoral se aborda c\u00f3mo es entendida y atendida la diversidad y la igualdad educativa en centros de educaci\u00f3n primaria que reciben alumnado de origen extranjero. Se han considerado que este tipo de actuaciones est\u00e1n influenciadas por dos elementos. Por un lado, por las estructuras educativas y por otro, por los procesos de clasificiaci\u00f3n de las diferencias educativas.  uno y otro elemento configuran las acciones que los centros dirigen
