El m\u00e9todo lo configuran por una parte un algoritmo tomogr\u00e1fico que reconstruye dicho gradiente a partir de unos datos experimentales y, por otra parte, la t\u00e9cnica experimental empleada para la recolecci\u00f3n de datos experimentales, en este caso deflectometr\u00eda de haces l\u00e1ser o \u00abl\u00e1ser scanning\u00bb. el algoritmo que constituye el n\u00facleo de dicho m\u00e9todo parte de conceptos propios de la \u00f3ptica geom\u00e9trica y de la tomograf\u00eda y a lo largo de la tesis de muestra como tales conceptos se interrelacionan para dar lugar a la formulaci\u00f3n te\u00f3rica del algoritmo. En este sentido, se dedica un especial esfuerzo a destacar las principales diferencias y dificultades de este algoritmo tomogr\u00e1fica con respecto a cualquier otro que pudiese ser previamente aplicado en otros campos, como es el caso de la tomograf\u00eda axial computerizada. En los cap\u00edtulos centrales de la tesis se abordan cada uno de estos problemas, explic\u00e1ndose el procedimiento seguido para su resoluci\u00f3n. una vez explicada la formulaci\u00f3n te\u00f3rica del algoritmo tomogr\u00e1fico se realizan toda una serie de simulaciones num\u00e9ricas con el objetivo de estimar la precisi\u00f3n del algoritmo para diferente fuentes y magnitudes de error experimental previamente comentadas. De estas simulaciones num\u00e9rica se concluye que el m\u00e9todo tomogr\u00e1fico puede recuperar en condiciones experimentales realistas gradientes de \u00edndice cristalinianos con una precisi\u00f3n media de la tercera decimal del \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n.     la \u00faltima parte de la tesis se dedica a la implementaci\u00f3n experimental del m\u00e9todo tomogr\u00e1fico para la reconstrucci\u00f3n de gradientes de \u00edndice de peces y en cerdos, con simetr\u00edas y variaciones de \u00edndice diferentes.
