Heynh para incrementar su tolerancia a la congelacion como consecuencia del proceso de aclimatacion, analizando, en distintos estados de desarrollo y en plantas de distintos ecotipos, la tolerancia intrinseca a la congelacion y el incremento en dicha tolerancia como consecuencia de distintos tiempos de aclimatacion. Asi mismo, se han identificado genes cuyos rnas mensajeros se acumulan durante el proceso de aclimatacion. Dos de estos genes pertenecen a una misma familia a la que hemos llamado rci 2, y otro gen pertenece a otra familia genica que codifica las proteinas que forman los complejos antena tipo i del fotosistema ii (lhcp).
