Sin embargo, a\u00fan se desconoce el papel que dichos policationes org\u00e1nicos juegan a nivel molecular en las respuestas fisiol\u00f3gicas de las plantas. Se han postulado algunas funciones de protecci\u00f3n f\u00edsica de membranas bajo condiciones de estr\u00e9s abi\u00f3tico, y tan solo recientemente se han identificado algunas dianas moleculares sobre las que las poliaminas podr\u00edan ejecutar funciones particulares. En nuestro laboratorio hemos iniciado un abordaje multidisciplinar basado en t\u00e9cnicas de transcript\u00f3mica, gen\u00f3mica funcional y metabol\u00f3mica para esclarecer el papel de las poliaminas en la respuesta de la planta frente a estr\u00e9s abi\u00f3tico, y m\u00e1s en particular a estr\u00e9s por fr\u00edo. Estudios iniciales en respuesta a estr\u00e9s pro fr\u00edo, los datos de expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica por rt-pcr cuantitativa a tiempo real han revelado que dos de los genes claves en la ruta de bios\u00edntesis de poliaminas (adc1 y adc2) est\u00e1n  regulados positivamente por dicho estr\u00e9s pero a dicho estr\u00e9s pero a distintos tiempos y magnitudes. De acuerdo con los datos de transcript\u00f3mica, se han detectado aumentos en los niveles de poliaminas en dichas condiciones de estr\u00e9s. estudios funcionales paralelos, mediante abordajes gen\u00e9ticos con mutantes de p\u00e9rdida de funci\u00f3n para dichos genes, indican que la viabilidad de estos mutantes, tras ser expuestos a temperaturas de congelaci\u00f3n, se encuentran seriamente comprometida. Ambos mutantes muestran menor expresi\u00f3n del gen nced3 de bios\u00edntesis de aba y consecuentemente menores niveles de \u00e1cido absc\u00edcio (aba) en condicones de estr\u00e9s por fr\u00edo. estudios de complementaci\u00f3n rec\u00edproca utilizando las mutantes adc, mutantes aba2-3, aba y put sit\u00faan a esta \u00faltima aguas corriente arriba en la v\u00edas de transducci\u00f3n de
