Algunos \u00f3xidos pertenecientes a los sistemas la1-xcaxmno3 y la1-xsrxmno3 presentan magnetorresistencia colosal (mrc), lo que convierte a estos sistemas en ideales para su estudio. Se ha estudiado el sistema la1-xcaxmno3 para 0.67  menor que -x menor que -1.00. Se ha propuesto un modelo sencillo que permite cuantificar el tama\u00f1o de las entidades magn\u00e9ticas responsables del comportamiento ferromagn\u00e9tico. Adem\u00e1s, se ha observado para determinadas composiciones la coexistencia de mrc positiva y negativa. Para x = 0, lamno3, se ha determinado experimentalmente el tama\u00f1o de las entidades fm generadas mediante creaci\u00f3n de vacantes cati\u00f3nicas por procesos de oxidaci\u00f3n. Mediante la creaci\u00f3n de vacantes ani\u00f3nicas se ha conseguido estabilizar una superestructura, lamno2.75, con un peculiar comportamiento magn\u00e9tico. Por \u00faltimo, se ha estabilizado por primera vez la0.5sr0.5mno2.5, una superestructura tipo brownmillerita con un interesante comportamiento magn\u00e9tico y el\u00e9ctrico.
