Los mecanismos por los que estas hormonas act\u00faan, sin embargo, no se conocen.En diversas especies, entre ellas arabidopsis thaliana, se la descrito previamente que auxinas y giberelinas pueden inducir desarrollo del fruto partenoc\u00e1rpico, es decir independientemente de la fertilizaci\u00f3n de los \u00f3vulos. En este trabajo se ha querido comprobar esta capacidad inductora de partenocarpia, y determinar los mecanismos moleculares que median la acci\u00f3n de las hormonas, as\u00ed como la naturaleza de la interacci\u00f3n entre ambas.  experimentos de localizaci\u00f3n de auxinas han demostrado que el primer paso del proceso de fructificaci\u00f3n consiste en una acumulaci\u00f3n de auxinas en los \u00f3vulos, y que la inducci\u00f3n de fructificaci\u00f3n por tratamiento con giberelinas no produce ese efecto. Por lo tanto, las giberelinas deben actuar independientemente de las auxinas, o mediando su actuaci\u00f3n. Por otra parte, las auxinas activan la expresi\u00f3n de genes de bios\u00edntesis de giberelinas, y tambi\u00e9n eventos de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n por giberelinas, como se ha comprobado mediante an\u00e1lisis gen\u00e9ticos y moleculares. Esto sugiere que las auxinas ejercen su acci\u00f3n en la fructificaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de las giberelinas. El an\u00e1lisis transcript\u00f3mico muestra que la acci\u00f3n de las giberelinas puede, a su vez, estar mediada por elementos de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de auxinas.
