En ausencia de nutrientes, las c\u00e9lulas diploides inician un proceso de diferenciaci\u00f3n celular denominado esporulaci\u00f3n.  en esporulaci\u00f3n, las c\u00e9lulas se dividen por meiosis y adem\u00e1s sufren un proceso morfogen\u00e9tico denominado esporog\u00e9nesis, necesario para la formaci\u00f3n de esporas resistentes a diferentes condiciones de estr\u00e9s. el gen cdc15 es necesario para la formaci\u00f3n de esporas. C\u00e9lulas diploides que expresan cdc15 durante el crecimiento vegetativo, pero no durante la esporulaci\u00f3n, son capaces de completar la meiosis, pero no forman esporas. Los resultados obtenidos indican que cdc15 es necesaria para el correcto ensamblaje y cierre de la membrana de la proespora y para la s\u00edntesis de la pared de la espora. Tambi\u00e9n controla la exportaci\u00f3n de la fosfatasa cdc14 del n\u00facleo al citoplasma y mantiene esta prote\u00edna en el estado liberado al final de la meiosis ii. Los datos obtenidos sugieren que los defectos en la exportaci\u00f3n de cdc14 del n\u00facleo al citoplasma no son los \u00fanicos responsables de los defectos esporogen\u00e9ticos del mutante cdc15. por otra parte, swm1, una subunidad del complejo apc\/c, es necesaria para la correcta degradaci\u00f3n de la ciclina clb2 al final de mitosis durante el crecimiento a 38\u00c2\u00ba c. En el mutante swm1, cdk no se inactiva correctamente al finalizar la mitosis y se observan defectos en la separaci\u00f3n celular, en la deposici\u00f3n de la quitina en la pared celular y en la formaci\u00f3n del septo. Adem\u00e1s, en el mutante swm1, el factor de transcripci\u00f3n ace2 no se acumula en el n\u00facleo de la c\u00e9lula hija al finalizar la mitosis y por ello, no se activa la transcripci\u00f3n de los genes necesarios para la separaci\u00f3n celular.
