Por un lado se han preparado un n\u00famero muy elevado de carbones activados por diferentes m\u00e9todos de preparaci\u00f3n f\u00edsica y qu\u00edmica y se han estudiado sus propiedades texturales y qu\u00edmico superficiales mediante diferentes t\u00e9cnicas y m\u00e9todos de caracterizaci\u00f3n. Posteriormente se han seleccionado un grupo representativo de muestras al objeto de comparar sus propiedades y profundizar a\u00fan m\u00e1s en su estudio utilizando otras t\u00e9cnicas de caracterizaci\u00f3n. Finalmente se ha estudiado la posible aplicaci\u00f3n de las muestras seleccionadas en la absorci\u00f3n de metales pesados en sistemas acuosos mono y multicomponentes, la absorci\u00f3n de dos
