Durante el colapso, los gases internos de las burbujas se comprimen, dando lugar a condiciones extremas de presi\u00f3n y temperatura. Estas codiciones pueden aprovecharse para fomentar reacciones qu\u00edmicas en el seno del l\u00edquido, lo que convierte este tecnolog\u00eda en un poa (proceso de oxidaci\u00f3n avanzada) bif\u00e1sico. La presente tesis doctoral pretende establecer bases te\u00f3ricas y experimentales para la utilizaci\u00f3n de la cavitaci\u00f3n hidrodin\u00e1mica en procesos fisico-qu\u00edmicos de tratamiento de aguas contaminadas. Para ello se han desarrollado herramientas de simulaci\u00f3n, se ha dise\u00f1ado un equipo experimental vers\u00e1til y flexible, y se han llevado a cabo procesos experimentales. El conjunto pretende ser un desarrollo coherente te\u00f3rico-experimental que proporcione una base para la comprensi\u00f3n y optimizaci\u00f3n de la cavitaci\u00f3n hidrodin\u00e1mica como proceso de tratamiento de aguas.
